BIRD & WILDLIFE WATCHING

Murramarang National Park is home to 90 species of birds and 39 native mammals. Look for lyrebirds, parrots, gliders, sea eagles, the endangered sooty oyster catcher, owls, white-faced storm petrels, satin bower birds and a penguin colony. You will see sea eagles and peregrine falcons flying above the Park cliffs and headlands. And the rufous fantail and eastern yellow robin in rainforest gullies around Durras Mountain. The sooty oyster catcher will most likely be wading around the edges of the lake areas.
